Our Story
In 2004, 25-year-old sisters Katie and Michelle Johnson, decided that it was time to shake up the recruitment industry.
As young professionals working within corporate employment and HR firms, both felt disenchanted by the fast-paced and disconnected nature of the industry, which seemed to treat humans simply as sales targets.
With a vision to build the capacity of people instead of chasing targets, they launched their own ethics- and values-driven business in Bendigo … ESE Consulting.
From the beginning ESE Consulting focused on delivering human-centred outcomes for both employers and employees. The strategy was simple … to listen and gain a deep understanding of each client’s needs.
This approach resonated with local businesses and today ESE Consulting offers professional advice, recruitment and human resource services to a long list of loyal and satisfied clients across Victoria.
The ESE team has proven that a successful recruitment consultancy can, and should be, all about helping people.
Our commitment to community
As a small business, we take pride in being involved with our local community. In our own small way, we hope to have a positive impact on the place we call home.
Over the years we’ve been fortunate to work alongside many great organisations to further their reach and improve their ability to help others.
Locally we have donated funds to various causes including:
- Bendigo Community Health Services
- Annie North
- Bendigo FoodShare
- The Hiphopopportunites, the Oncology ward at the Bendigo Base Hospital,
- the Bendigo Uniting Church Outreach program, and
- St Luke’s Anglicare.
Further afield we are regular contributors to World Vision, United Nation Refugees and The National Breast Cancer Association.
Along with donating funds, we strive to be generous with our time. Katie is a Board Director of Bendigo Community Health Services, while Michelle is on the Quarry Hill Primary School Committee.
